My Story On How The Company Got Started
 

I’m a single Mom and I live in Chicago. A couple years ago, I was with my son, we walked to my SUV and I had a boot on my truck.  My son missed his basketball game, I was heart broken. I appeared in court and pleaded to the judge to let me pay $800 in tickets instead of the almost $2,000 (because of late fees). My plea to the judge was that I was not aware of any of these Red Light tickets. The judge proceeded to tell me that over 25 notifications had been mailed to my PO Box.  WAIT, I didn’t have a PO Box!  I said that’s easy to prove!  The judge made me pay the tickets and the fines anyway! Please note I was NOT trying to fight the tickets ONLY the additional fees.

After my horrific ordeal with Red Light tickets, it hit me!  I finally found a subject I was passionate about. They say if you do what you love, the money will come.  Especially if it helps people….that’s it I felt like a genius!… mobile solutions to benefit people while saving the government money at the same damn time!

Text notifications in lieu of mailed notifications. I started doing research, I found out that the State of Illinois was spending over $4.5 million dollars per year in postage sending out Drivers License Plate Renewals. (I can only imagine the cost for postage for Red Light tickets). This confirmed that my idea of text notifications would be beneficial for several government departments as well as other businesses.   What if I had received a text notification about my Red Light tickets? I could have paid them on time!  What if the DMV sent text notifications instead of mailing out the reminders?  What if the Environmental Protection Agency sent text notifications for emissions test instead of mailing out notifications. Go Green right? (save the environment?).

Hence this was the purpose of MobileRad being created - help businesses and people. Save time and money!
